2. From Windows, RUN SETUP.EXE on the floppy drive.

4. Once the directory has been entered, click the Install button.
5. All of the files necessary to run Professional Address Books will be installed including Borland's Database Engine.
For the easiest installation, use the default directory names for the installation. The
default directory names are the names provided by the setup program.
6. When the installation finishes a program group is created called Professional Address Books.
Professional Address Books was written using Borland's Delphi. Before Professional Address Books can be used the Borland Database Engine must be correctly configured.
To configure Borland's Database Engine follow these simple steps:
1. Click the BDE Config icon in the Professional Address Books program group.
2. Select the Alias choice from the Pages Menu ~ or ~ click the Aliases tab at the bottom.
3. Click the NEW ALIAS button.
4. Enter PAB as the New Alias Name. DO NOT CHANGE THE ALIAS TYPE (STANDARD).
5. Click the PATH field, it's in the window on the right side of the screen.
6. Enter the full path (including the drive letter) where the Professional Address Books tables were installed. This would be the installation directory name you provided during setup and adding the TABLES sub-directory.
* For example, if the installation directory name you entered was C:\PAB205 you would type C:\PAB205\TABLES in the Parameters Path field. DO NOT CHANGE THE TYPE (STANDARD) OR THE DEFAULT DRIVER (PARADOX).
7. Save the changes by selecting SAVE from the File Menu.
8. Exit BDE Config by selecting EXIT from the File Menu.
9. Exit Windows and Re-Start your computer.
You can now run Professional Address Books. For instructions on the operation of Professional Address Books see the Professional Address Books Help file (PAB.HLP).
